Products of different government owned Secondary Schools in niger state has expressed dissatisfaction over non-payment of Neco registration fees by government, which deny students Access to their results.
If you recall the National Examination Coucil (NECO) has released June/July 2019 Neco result, withholding the result of students in the states that are owing the council.
The examination management body withhold student's results from all government owned Secondary Schools across Niger state.
Many affected students in Niger state lamented over the development and stated fear of possible admission deprivation in Nigeria's Higher Institution of learning if nothing is done by the authorities concern.
Abdullahi Zakari Aliyu mantafien, expressed his sadness and urge governor Sani Bello to rectify the issue.
"Very recently Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) instructed all candidates to upload their O level results in the Board's portal if they want to be consider in this year admission exercise.
"If truly Niger state government is committed to the welfare of the people and quality education, governor Sani Bello must rise to save us from loosing admission at different tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
"Therefore, on behalf of all Niger state students graduated in 2019, I am calling on Niger state governor Abubakar sani Bello lolo, to as a matter of urgency authorise the immediate payment of NECO registration fees in order to allow us access to our results," Abdullahi added.
Meanwhile, Fatima mohammad another female student from Government day secondry School Gbadafu lamented the delay in the payment of NECO registration fees by the state government.
"Governor Abubakar is among the advocates of girl-child education, we hope he will not allow the disruption of our academic future. We therefore calling on him to do anything possible to ensure Niger female students are not deny admission in the nation's tertiary institutions as a result of non-payment of NECO registration fees.
"Please let the government stop playing with the future of Niger state youths seeking to get admission in various Tertiary institutions.
"Both His Excellency Abubakar Sani Bello, His Deputy Alhaji Ahmed ketso, and many of his cabinet members all passed through public schools and I am sure the government of their time didn't play and risk their future like this, they are all providences benefactors of Government educational institutions," Fatima added.
Most of the senior officials of Niger State Ministry of Education didn't respond to the issue, almost a month now i dont think they did anything regards to this issue of non-payment of NECO registration fees.
One senior education official who disclosed anonymity said, "there are plans on ground to settle NECO registration fees and very soon all students will access their results."
