This is an important choice because while there is no particular major required for law school, there are courses that will enhance graduate studies and make law school easier. As one nears the end of his or her undergraduate school career, it is time to register and prepare to take the law school admissions test or LSAT. Again, as there is no required major for the undergraduate, there are no preset study questions that can prepare the lawyer-to-be for the admissions exam. The exam is one that helps determine whether or not one might be successful in school. The exam does not cover topics such as history, political science or mathematics. It is mainly reading comprehension and logic that is examined within the test sections. Preparing for the test does not fall within standard studying parameters. There are many ways to prepare, however. Getting an LSAT study guide as soon as one knows their desire to pursue a career in law is a good place to start.</span><span class="textstyle5" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold;"><br />Applying to Law School</span><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="textstyle2" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br /><br />Once the LSAT has been taken, one should be ready to start the actual admissions process which, of course, begins with the application. Most school candidates will already have an idea of where they would like to attend law school and will begin applying there. Others may not have a clue where to go. While it is good to have direction and intent, it is not completely necessary. You may direct your LSAT scores to particular law schools though most schools get lists of those participating in the admissions test. You will soon be in receipt of admission applications from law schools all over the world giving you many options to consider should you have no prior ideas. The road to being a lawyer is getting shorter.<br /><br />Once accepted into law school, law students will go through classes, case studies, internships or clerkships, mock trials and may do pro-bono type work at legal clinics. All this is a foundation to becoming a lawyer. The final step is passing the bar exam for whichever state one intends to practice law in. One may think they will be practicing in the state in which law school was attended but that is not always the case.</span></div>

<b>Dear Brothers and sisters in islam,</b><dr>
All Praise is to Allaah who has brought us to this moment, Rajab. There's no doubt, Ramadan is fast knocking on our doors, thus, we beseech Allaah(SWT) to preserve us in faith and health till then, ameen.</dr><br />
I know you are aware of what Ramadan comes with; its virtues and opportunities. Hence, I admonish you and myself on the following:<br />
<b>1. Repay your missed fasts,</b> don't be in the league of those seeking fatwa when others are seeking the new moon. <br />
<b>2.Try and perfect your recitations;</b> will you be missing the great rewards of reciting the Quran in this year's Ramadan because of the difficulty you encounter in recitation? There's time, go and meet your Imam, Mallam, Alfa.. rectify those "crackings". May Allaah make it easy. <br />
<b>3.Go for a medical check up and treat your ailments, </b>may Allaah heal you. You may repay fast if missed but what's better than fasting Ramadan in the blessed month itself? <br />
<b>4.Go and do muraja(revision); </b>yes! you've memorized 1,2,3...30 juz from the Quran. Will you be holding mushaf to perform qiyamulayl?? <br />
<b>5.Get used to tahajud..... Long one,</b> don't be in the first 3 taraweeh league.<br />
<b>6. Start saving up:</b> if feeding yourself and your family may be difficult, you still have time to put things together and 'hussle'too. <br />
<b>7. Learn more about Ramadan:</b> Yes, there will be many seatings of knowledge in Ramadan but you need to attend before it. Plus, ask questions about unclear or unknown rulings. You can't afford to waste your effort. May Allaah accept it.<br />
<b>8. Don't be a glutton: </b>you know you can't do without eating an hour. Ramadan is at your door, be disciplined!<br />
<b>9. AVOID ALCOHOL : </b>it's a sin yesterday, today and tomorrow, not only in Ramadan. It's the mother of sins and renders your 40 days solah useless. Imagine! Someone sips a cup of alcohol on 21st of sha'ban.... Alcohol ingestion is evil.. Avoid it!!!!!!!!<br />

<b>The virtue of fasting:</b><br />
<b>Firstly: </b>clear verses from the book of Allah which incite the Muslim to fast, in order to draw closer to Allah and which explain the virtue of it: <br />
Allah subnawo wataalah said:<br />
أَيَّامًا مَّعۡدُودَٲتٍ  ۚ  فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنۡ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ  ۚ  وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ ۥ فِدۡيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسۡكِينٍ‌   ۖ   فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيۡرًا فَهُوَ خَيۡرٌ لَّهُ ۥ  ۚ  وَأَن تَصُومُواْ خَيۡرٌ لَّڪُمۡ‌   ۖ   إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ

(Fast) a certain number of days; and (for) him who is sick among you, or on a journey, (the same) number of other days; and for those who can afford it there is a ransom: the feeding of a man in need - but whoso doeth good of his own accord, it is better for him: and that ye fast is better for you if ye did but know -Q-2:184<br />

Because of the goodness which is inherent to fasting in these circumstances, it is clear to us that it contains the basis elements required for controlling one's desire, and a preference for workshopping Allah while being at ease. all of these elements are required in Islamic training. Likewise, it is clear to us that fasting holds a number of healthful advantages except for the invalid even if the fasting person experiences some strain due to it.<br />
Allah suhanawo wataallah said:<br />
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ وَٱلۡمُسۡلِمَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ وَٱلۡقَـٰنِتِينَ وَٱلۡقَـٰنِتَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرَٲتِ وَٱلۡخَـٰشِعِينَ وَٱلۡخَـٰشِعَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰٓٮِٕمِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰٓٮِٕمَـٰتِ وَٱلۡحَـٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمۡ وَٱلۡحَـٰفِظَـٰتِ وَٱلذَّٲڪِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱلذَّٲڪِرَٲتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةً وَأَجۡرًا عَظِيمًا

Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender, and men who believe and women who believe, and men who obey and women who obey, and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth, and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty), and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.Q-33:35<br />
<b>Secondly: the clear varses from the book of Allah</b>
Which spreak of fasting as an atonement for things such as shaving the head while in a state of ihram, when one is permitted to do so, due to illness or some harm to the head, because of this inability to provide a sacrificial animal, killing a person by mistake who is protected by a treaty, breaking one's oath, killing game while in while in a state of ihram and ziharah.<br />
Allay subhawo wataala said:<br />

وَأَتِمُّواْ ٱلۡحَجَّ وَٱلۡعُمۡرَةَ لِلَّهِ  ۚ  فَإِنۡ أُحۡصِرۡتُمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡىِ‌   ۖ   وَلَا تَحۡلِقُواْ رُءُوسَكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَبۡلُغَ ٱلۡهَدۡىُ مَحِلَّهُ ۥ  ۚ  فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوۡ بِهِۦۤ أَذًى مِّن رَّأۡسِهِۦ فَفِدۡيَةٌ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوۡ صَدَقَةٍ أَوۡ نُسُكٍ  ۚ  فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمۡ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلۡعُمۡرَةِ إِلَى ٱلۡحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡىِ  ۚ  فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَـٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِى ٱلۡحَجِّ وَسَبۡعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعۡتُمۡ   ۗ   تِلۡكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ   ۗ   ذَٲلِكَ لِمَن لَّمۡ يَكُنۡ أَهۡلُهُ ۥ حَاضِرِى ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ  ۚ  وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ

Perform the pilgrimage and the visit (to Makka) for Allah. And if ye are prevented, then send such gifts as can be obtained with ease, and shave not your heads until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or hath an ailment of the head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering. And if ye are in safety, then whosoever contenteth himself with the visit for the pilgrimage (shall give) such gifts as can be had with ease. And whosoever cannot find (such gifts), then a fast of three days while on the pilgrimage, and of seven when ye have returned; that is, ten in all. That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Inviolable Place of Worship. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.Q-2:196<br />
And also Allah the most high said: <br />
    وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ أَن يَقۡتُلَ مُؤۡمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـًٔا  ۚ  وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤۡمِنًا خَطَـًٔا فَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦۤ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُواْ  ۚ  فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوۡمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمۡ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٌ فَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ‌   ۖ   وَإِن ڪَانَ مِن قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَڪُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ‌   ۖ   فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ شَهۡرَيۡنِ مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ تَوۡبَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ   ۗ   وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَڪِيمًا

It is not for a believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed a believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood-money to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. And whoso hath not the wherewithal must fast two consecutive months. A penance from Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise. Q-4:92.<br />

And he, the most high said:<br />
لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغۡوِ فِىٓ أَيۡمَـٰنِكُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُڪُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلۡأَيۡمَـٰنَ‌   ۖ   فَكَفَّـٰرَتُهُ ۥۤ إِطۡعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَـٰكِينَ مِنۡ أَوۡسَطِ مَا تُطۡعِمُونَ أَهۡلِيكُمۡ أَوۡ كِسۡوَتُهُمۡ أَوۡ تَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ‌   ۖ   فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَـٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ  ۚ  ذَٲلِكَ كَفَّـٰرَةُ أَيۡمَـٰنِكُمۡ إِذَا حَلَفۡتُمۡ  ۚ  وَٱحۡفَظُوٓاْ أَيۡمَـٰنَكُمۡ  ۚ  كَذَٲلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ

Allah will not take you to task for that which is unintentional in your oaths, but He will take you to task for the oaths which ye swear in earnest. The expiation thereof is the feeding of ten of the needy with the average of that wherewith ye feed your own folk, or the clothing of them, or the liberation of a slave, and for him who findeth not (the wherewithal to do so) then a three days' fast. This is the expiation of your oaths when ye have sworn; and keep your oaths. Thus Allah expoundeth unto you His revelations in order that ye may give thanks.Q-5:89<br />
And he the must high said: <br />
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَقۡتُلُواْ ٱلصَّيۡدَ وَأَنتُمۡ حُرُمٌ  ۚ  وَمَن قَتَلَهُ ۥ مِنكُم مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَآءٌ مِّثۡلُ مَا قَتَلَ مِنَ ٱلنَّعَمِ يَحۡكُمُ بِهِۦ ذَوَا عَدۡلٍ مِّنكُمۡ هَدۡيَۢا بَـٰلِغَ ٱلۡكَعۡبَةِ أَوۡ كَفَّـٰرَةٌ طَعَامُ مَسَـٰكِينَ أَوۡ عَدۡلُ ذَٲلِكَ صِيَامًا لِّيَذُوقَ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِۦ   ۗ   عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا سَلَفَ  ۚ  وَمَنۡ عَادَ فَيَنتَقِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡهُ   ۗ   وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

O ye who believe! Kill no wild game while ye are on the pilgrimage. Whoso of you killeth it of set purpose he shall pay its forfeit in the equivalent of that which he hath killed, of domestic animals, the judge to be two men among you known for justice, (the forfeit) to be brought as an offering to the Ka'bah; or, for expiation, he shall feed poor persons, or the equivalent thereof in fasting, that he may taste the evil consequences of his deed. Allah forgiveth whatever (of this kind) may have happened in the past, but whoso relapseth, Allah will take retribution from him. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).Q-5:95<br />
And he must high says:<br />
ٱلَّذِينَ يُظَـٰهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَآٮِٕهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَـٰتِهِمۡ‌   ۖ   إِنۡ أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمۡ إِلَّا ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى وَلَدۡنَهُمۡ  ۚ  وَإِنَّہُمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنڪَرًا مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَزُورًا  ۚ  وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ

Such of you as put away your wives (by saying they are as their mothers) - They are not their mothers; none are their mothers except those who gave them birth - they indeed utter an ill word and a lie. And lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.<br />
<b>Thirdly: fasting and the Qur'an will intercede for the one who fasts and recites the Qur'an</b><br />

It is reported on the authority of 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn Al-As may Allah be please with him that the messenger of Allah may peace and blessing of Allah be upon him said:<br />
"Fasting and Qur'an intercede for the slave on the day of judgment, saying: 'O, Lord! I prevented him from food and from desires during the day, so make me an intercessor for him.' And the Qur'an will say: ' I prevented him sleeping at night, so make me an intercessor for him. ' He may Allah peace be upon him added: "Then Allah will grant grant them intercession."<br />
This is an authentic hadith.

1. The linguist meaning of sawm
Is to totally abstain from something, as in the following peotic verses:<br />
" Horses which hold back and horses which do not hold back Beneath the dust( of battle), which others are chomping at the bit."<br />
This was said by An-Nabighah Az-Zubyani in his 'Deewan'(112).<br />
( Translators note: His real name was Ziyad ibn mu'awiyah a poet)<br />
<b> The juristic meaning of sawm:</b>
Refraining from eating, drinking and sexual intercourse, along with the intention to do so, from dawn until sunset.<br />
Some Qur'anic commentator have said that two kinds of sawn are mentioning in Qur'an:<br />
The first is the juristic type of sawm which is known as in the words of Allah the most high said:<br />
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡڪُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that ye may ward off (evil);Q-2:183<br />
also in another verse Allah the most high said:<br />
شَہۡرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَـٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانِ  ۚ  فَمَن شَہِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّہۡرَ فَلۡيَصُمۡهُ‌   ۖ   وَمَن ڪَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنۡ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ   ۗ   يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِڪُمُ ٱلۡيُسۡرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِڪُمُ ٱلۡعُسۡرَ وَلِتُڪۡمِلُواْ ٱلۡعِدَّةَ وَلِتُڪَبِّرُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَٮٰكُمۡ وَلَعَلَّڪُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.  Q-2:185<br />

The second is silence as in the words of Allah, the most high:<br />
فَكُلِى وَٱشۡرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيۡنًا‌   ۖ   فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرۡتُ لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ صَوۡمًا فَلَنۡ أُڪَلِّمَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ إِنسِيًّا

So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal. Q-19:26<br />

<b>there is nothing disliked in a person saying"</b><br />
ramadhan has come and ramadhan has gone ,"according to the majority Muslim scholars, based upon the hadith of Abu hurairah may Allah be pleased with him Who reported that the messager Of Allah may peace be upon him said.<br />

When the month of ramadhan come,the gates of paradise are opened,the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained up"<br />
Narrated by Al-bukahri in (no.1899) and Muslim (no.1079).<br />

This is an authentic hadith.
It is also because saying that something is dislike must be substantiated by a legal prohibition of it and there is no such confirmation in the Islamic law.
As for the hadith Abu hurairah may Allah be pleased with him in which it is stated that he said: " the messenger of Allah may peace be upon him said:<br />
"Do not say: " Ramadan ", because Ramadan is one of the names of Allah; instead, say: the month of Ramadan." 
It is a week hadith.<br />
Narrated by Al-Baihaqi in as-sunan Al-kubra(4/201).<br />
<b>the ruling of fasting:</b>
Fasting in Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam.<br />
Allah, the most high says in surah Al- Baqarah (2:183):<br />
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡڪُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that ye may ward off (evil);<br />
It is reported on the authority of Abdullah ibn umar may Allah be please with him, from the prophet Muhammad may peace be upon him said:<br />
Islam is founded on five principles, I.e. belief in Allah and his messenger, the five compulsory prayers, fasting the month of Ramadan, the payment of Zakat and the hajj."<br />
This is an authentic hadith.<br />
Narrated by all-bukhari(no.8) and Muslim(no.18).<br />
